  • Operation Easter Basket

SDFM Buckeye Chapter is collecting items to support the DSCC Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation (FMWR)’s Easter Basket Campaign which runs from March 2-20, 2026.

This event is in honor of Military Children and these baskets will be awarded at the March 28, Eggstravaganza (https://www.defensemwr.com/columbus/event/eggstravaganza/). This event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 10am-12:30pm in the DSCC Café in Building 20 and outdoor patio area if weather permits. It is open to all DSCC Associates & Military with access to the DSCC Installation.

We are collecting items for 3 baskets covering three age groups:  0-3, 4-7 and 8-12

Suggested items are below, but will take other items outside the list, all donated items should be in new, unopened condition. If you have a theme for an age group pick up items for those items that works as well.

For ages 0-3 we are looking for: New Soft plush animals (like bunnies or chicks), board books with bright colors and textures, stacking rings, large puzzle blocks, bath toys, a bunny-themed sippy cup, a set of soft-tipped spoons.

For ages 4-7 we are looking for: Art supplies (like crayons, markers, and coloring books), play-doh, sticker books, age-appropriate puzzles, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, balls, books, child-size gardening supplies, candy and snacks.

For ages 8-12 we are looking for: Art sets, science experiment kits, craft kits (like DIY jewelry or slime), books, puzzles, portable speakers, family games or card games, reusable water bottle, a cool notebook and pens, gift cards, candy and snacks.

The chapter will purchase baskets, ‘grass/tissue paper’ and fill any gaps. If you’d like to help assemble the baskets, please let Terri know.

Our deadline to get these over to MWR is Friday, March 20th. We would like all items being donated to be provided no later than Monday, March 16th to allow time to grab any last minute items to complete each basket.

Items can be dropped off with Terri Hilton in building 21, 2A-208 or Adu Enin-Kattah in building 21, 4A-208A. If you are outside the installation and would like to participate, please reach out to Terri Hilton at 614-579-5547 (text works best or leave a voicemail) or email TerriHiltonETTInc@gmail.com  to arrange pickup or have any questions.
